Volvo’s new sporty electric brand Polestar surprised electric car fans when it unveiled the sexy Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid coupe two months ago. Polestar is working hard to get the 600-hp Polestar 1 ready for production. Although Polestar already started accepting reservations for the Polestar 1 coupe, it now expects to start taking actual orders in early 2018.
When the Polestar 1 does start rolling off the production line in 2019, certain markets will be prioritized, like the U.S. and China. Buyers in the U.S. have showed the most interest for the Polestar 1, so it’s not surprising that Polestar will includes the U.S. in its initial launch plans. China is next, followed by Germany and The Netherlands.

Polestar will limit the production of the production of the Polestar 1 to only around 500 units a year and pricing is expected to be pretty with high with a price tag starting around $155,000.
