Nissan Kills the Altima Hybrid… 2012 Model Not Planned

Not all hybrids are created equal. The Toyota Prius may fly out of Toyota’s showrooms, but that doesn’t mean that all other hybrids sell just as fast, look at the Honda Insight. Well it looks like Nissan’s only hybrid, the Nissan Altima Hybrid is no more.

Kicking Tires recently confirmed that Nissan will not offer the Altima Hybrid after the 2011 model year. The Altima Hybrid debuted in 2007 using Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive technology. It achieved 33 mpg, but was only available in a few states compared to the Ford Fusion Hybrid that is available nationwide.
