The Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ may soon have some competition from Nissan. Nissan has just unveiled its answer to the rear-wheel-drive twins with the IDx NISMO and IDx Freeflow concepts that are debuting in Tokyo. According to Nissan, the IDx Freeflow is a is a casual/lifestyle-focused vision, while the IDx NISMO is an ultra-sporty model of the future.
Both concepts are Nissan’s latest attempt to appeal to a younger buyer. Nissan says that the concepts were designed to appeal to “digital natives,” the generation born after 1990, and integrates their feedback into the creation process.
Nissan hasn’t announced when we will see something like the IDx concept show up in a showroom, but hopefully it won’t be too long. GM has also recently announced that it would also like to release its own low priced rear-wheel-drive coupe. Who’s next?!
