We love the Audi RS6 Avant and the good news is that it is slated to continue to stay in Audi’s lineup through 2025. A new report also claims that Audi is already planning the next RS6 and this time it will get a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

2022 Audi RS6 Avant

Stephan Reil, Audi’s head of research and development recently revealed to Australia’s Wheels that the next-generation RS6 will arrive for the 2026 model year and it will be powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The current model has a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, so it’s only natural that for the next RS6 it gets more electrification as the brand moves to a fully electric lineup. Audi has already stated that it plans to cease development of internal combustion engines in 2026.

We look forward to seeing what Audi is cooking up for the next RS6.
