If you like the latest VW Jetta, but you’ve been hoping for something a little sportier, then you’re in luck. It’s being reported that VW will unveil the next-generation Jetta GLI in February at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show.

According to Autoblog, VW is going to reveal the next version of the sporty VW Jetta GLI in just two months. The next Jetta GLI will get several upgrades over the standard Jetta, including a multi-link independent rear suspension and the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder from the GTI.

If the Jetta GLI gets the exact same engine as the VW GTI, we can expect it’s four-cylinder engine to generate 220 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. The four-cylinder will be mated to either a a six-speed manual transmission or the seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic.
