Smart Fortwo and ForFour Teaser

Smart is currently working on the third-generation Fortwo, which when it arrives will also see the introduction of a new four door version, the Forfour. Both models are expected to be revealed later this year, but in the meantime, Smart has released a video showing prototypes of both versions.
The third-generation Fortwo is based on a new platform that is shared with Renault-Nissan. The platform retains the same rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive setup, but has been designed to be able to handle a range of gasoline, diesel and electric powertrains. The platform has also been designed to be able to handle different wheelbases and track widths.

When the new Smart Fortwo arrives in the U.S. next year, it will be powered by a direct-injected gasoline three-cylinder engine that can be mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
