The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer its top safety award. The Mitsubishi Lancer was also the first Mitsubishi to ever pass the new roll-over test.
In order for a vehicle to be named a top safety pick it must earn the highest rating for front, side, rollover, and rear crash protection.
