The “F” version of the Lexus IS was unveiled earlier this year. The M3 fighter has a 5.0L V8 with over 400 horsepower. It is now rumored that Lexus is working on an “F” version of the GS sedan.

The Lexus GS-F could be released by 2012 with a V10 engine putting out over 500 horsepower. This would compete with the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63, and upcoming Audi RS6 sedan. The GS is due for a redesign for the 2011 model year, so the GS-F could be released a year later. The high-performance version of the GS will also borrow the eight-speed transmission from the LS sedan.
