“With the Tokyo Motor Show we will be introducing a new design concept; you can think of it as an evolution of theme of the RX-Vision,” Mazda Vice President for R&D Europe Matsuhiro Tanaka revealed to Auto Express.

The new concept is will likely show off Mazda’s future design language and it will probably also feature a rotary engine under the hood. Tanaka didn’t provide a confirmation about a rotary engine, but he did hint at it, “When we introduce a concept our intention from the engineering and design community is to make it a reality. What I will say is that we are making the utmost efforts to try and make this a possibility.”

With the arrival of another new concept, it’s expected that Mazda is getting ready to introduce a new rotary-powered sports car, which is not expected until 2020, when Mazda celebrates its centennial.
