Mitsubishi-2015 Chicago Auto Show

Mitsubishi has released this teaser of a model that it is going to reveal at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show next month. It’s hard to make out what it is, but it looks like it is some sort of crossover, which has been strategically placed on a sand dune. Either way, Mitsubishi think its debut will be exciting, since it is labeling the event as the “Return of a Legend.”
Before we get too excited, Autoblog spoke to Mitsubishi’s Alex Fedorak who said that the concept we will see next month, isn’t entirely new. Instead Mitsubishi is reportedly going to use the Chicago Auto Show to stage the North American debut of the GC-PHEV concept that orginally debuted at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. The concept was a crossover that was powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It’s reference to a “legend” refers to the fact that the concept is “a designer’s rendering of what a new Montero could look like.”

Mitsubishi hasn’t released any production plans, but it does plan to use the show to state how the concept could play a role in Mitsubishi’s future.
