Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept, which is debuting this week at the Beijing Motor Show. The latest Mercedes-Maybach concept is unique, since it seeks to combine the best attributes of both a sedan and SUV, with the end result being an ultra luxurious, high riding sedan.

The design of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept crossover follows the philosophy of Sensual Purity. The concept’s chrome-plated radiator grille with its fine vertical bars in the style of a pinstripe suit is also similar to the grille on the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 concept.

Inside the concept is all about the rear passengers, since in the real world the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury would be driven by a chauffeur. At the front the driver’s area has been reduced to just have the essentials, but there still are dual 12.3-inch screens. In there rear the spaciousness and lightness of the interior is emphasized by white Nappa leather, rose gold and polished aluminum. Rear passengers can also fully recline their seats, while they enjoy a cup of tea.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury is powered by four compact permanent-magnet synchronous motors that generate a combined 750 horsepower. The flat underfloor battery has a usable capacity of around 80 kWh, producing a range of over 200 miles on the NEDC cycle and the top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.

With DC fast charging, 60 miles of range can be added in just five minutes.
