Mercedes-Benz to create new electric vehicle sub-brand

Last week Volkswagen revealed plans to create a bunch of new electric vehicles and now it’s being reported that Mercedes-Benz is working on a new sub-brand for its future EVs.

Last week Volkswagen revealed plans to create a bunch of new electric vehicles and now it’s being reported that Mercedes-Benz is working on a new sub-brand for its future EVs. Following BMW with its i- sub-brand, Mercedes-Benz is currently finalizing plans for a new sub-brand that will enter the market with two electric sedans and two electric SUVs.
According to sources, Mercedes-Benz hasn’t finalized the name for its new sub-brand, but we will get to see the first electric model next month at the Paris Motor Show. Mercedes-Benz hasn’t revealed any details about the electric model, but it’s rumored that it will be an SUV with a driving range over 300 miles.

The new electric vehicles are expected to arrive before the end of the decade and will be produced at the automaker’s factory Bremen, Germany. The factory is also going to produce an electric fuel-cell version of the GLC crossover starting next year.
