Mercedes-Benz is reportedly working on a smaller version of the boxy G-Class SUV with the GLB badge.
According to Car Magazine, the GLB will be introduced in the fall of 2019 and will offer buyers an alternative to the more car-like GLA crossover. It’s also being reported that Mercedes-Benz was trying to decide between two different body styles for the GLB, but has since signed off on a longer wheelbase version that will have room for up to seven passengers.

How exactly will it work? The GLB will apparently look like a smaller G-Class, but will have B-Class proportions and drive like the GLA-Class. The GLB will be built on the next-generation MFA2 platform that will also be shared with the A- and B-Class models. The platform will also be the basis for the upcoming Infiniti Q30. The standard version will come with front-wheel-drive, but 4MATIC four-wheel drive will be optional.
