McLaren’s new Sports Series lineup is finally here with the debut of the 570S Coupe, which was revealed tonight in New York on the eve of the New York Auto Show. Although it’s technically the “entry-level” McLaren, the 570S is just as awesome as the rest of the McLaren lineup.
With a 562-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.8L V8 and 443 lb-ft. of torque on tap, the 570S reaches 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and 0-124 mph only takes 9.5 seconds. It also has a top speed of 204 mph. The V8 is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and all that power is sent to the ground via the rear wheels.

The 570S Coupe is the first bodystyle to be shown in the Sports Series, highlighting the latest evolution of the McLaren design philosophy. McLaren describes the 570S’s body as being “shrinkwrapped’ with a rear flying buttresses that increase downforce as well as adding grace.
The 570S also gets a unique carbon fiber MonoCell II chassis that is incredibly strong and stiff yet weighs less than 176 pounds. This lightweight structure, and the use of aluminum body panels, contributes to a dry weight of only 2,895 pounds.
Inside the 570S gets standard leather sports seats and the dashboard and steering wheel are also covered in leather. The 570S also gets a full infotainment system including an all new TFT digital instrument cluster that changes configuration according to driving mode, a seven-inch IRIS touchscreen, now with integrated climate control functionality, Bluetooth connectivity and DAB digital / SIRIUS satellite radio.
Pricing for the 570S has not been announced, but there are reports that it will start around $150,000.
