McLaren has unveiled the second model in the new Sports Series, the McLaren 540C Coupe. The 540C will be the lowest priced McLaren yet with a price tag that is set at £126,000.
The 540C shares its DNA with the models in the Super Series and Ultimate Series, including a light weight carbon fiber chassis and a mid-mounted 3.8-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine. The V8 generates 533 horsepower and 398 lb-ft. of torque, which gives the coupe a 0-62 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph. Power is delivered through the rear wheels via a seven-speed seamless shift gearbox (SSG).

Compared to the 570S Coupe, the 540C gets a revised aerodynamic package and different unique 19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear wheels. Unique aero blades below the front bumper channel cold, clean air through the lower bodywork and up over the sculpted bonnet, flanked by large LED headlamps. At the rear, the diffuser sits between the twin exhausts which exit below the rear bumper.
Inside the 540C leather covers the seats, dashboard and lower door panels. The ‘floating’ centre console features a seven-inch IRIS touchscreen which controls all elements of the infotainment system.
