Not only is the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata getting more power, but it looks like Mazda managed to make it more fuel efficient. The EPA has released the fuel economy specs for the 2019 MX-5 Miata and although the gains are tiny, it’s still nice to see that even with the extra 26 horsepower, you won’t have to visit the gas station more.

The 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata is rated at 26/34 mpg with the six-speed manual and 26/35 mpg if you choose the six-speed automatic transmission. Those specs represent a 1 mpg improvement over the 2018 model, but again we’ll take it. Under the hood the 2019 MX-5 Miata’s 2.0L four-cylinder has been reworked to generate a total 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft. of torque.

Some of the other upgrades include more tech, like Mazda’s i-Activesense safety technologies, which includes Advanced Smart City Brake Support and Smart City Brake Support. The 2019 MX-5 Miata also finally gets a rear view camera and a telescoping steering wheel.
