Mazda may soon add a new sportier crossover to its lineup, which was previewed by the Koeru concept in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Mazda CEO Masamichi Kogai has revealed that that the concept could add a new entry for the automaker.
Rather than being a performance version of the CX-5 or CX-9, Mazda’s CEO says that the Koeru is something completely different, with a lower ride height than any of Mazda’s current SUVs. “It’s a totally new car. It’s a lower, sporty SUV. It’s close to a wagon,” Kogai told Automotive News.

Kogai actually compared the model to the Subaru Outback, “That kind of genre. We’d like to see how it is evaluated globally, so we are collecting customer feedback.”
