Listen to the 2020 Chevy Corvette C8’s mid-engine V8

Chevy is continuing its teaser campaign for the 2020 Chevy Corvette C8, which is officially going to debut in July. We’ve already seen it on the streets of NYC and it even posed for a photo shoot in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Now Chevy decided to take the Corvette C8 to another iconic spot, the National Corvette Museum.

Next Generation Corvette Makes Michelin NCM Bash Appearance
At the Michelin NCM Bash GM did not disappoint, pulling out all stops to do a brief 'drive by' the Museum for attendees to marvel at the 'next generation' Corvette. The car pulled into Gate B of the Museum, looping the logo circle slowly so hundreds of on-lookers could snap photos and videos. While the car was noticeably quiet during the loop, driver Jon Andrews of Bowling Green did step on the gas and give a good roar as it departed down Corvette Drive. Thanks to GM and the Bowling Green Assembly team for this special treat!

The Corvette C8 briefly looped around the museum for fans to cheer and listen to the sounds of that mid-engine V8. Chevy hasn’t confirmed what engine will power the Corvette C8, but it’s likely the same 6.2-liter LT1 V8 as the current Corvette C7. If it is the same V8 as the current Corvette, we can expect some upgrades to give it more than the current 460-hp.

The V8 is also likely mated to a dual-clutch transmission, which is reported to a Tremec seven-speed transmission. The bad news is that the Corvette C8 will not be available with a manual transmission.
