We have some big news about the future of Lincoln, since it has just announced that it will electrify its entire lineup by 2030. Lincoln also plans to introduce its first fully electric vehicle in 2022.
The new EV will debut as Lincoln celebrates its 100th anniversary. By the middle of the decade, Lincoln expects that half of its global sales volume will be zero-emissions vehicles.
“As we accelerate Lincoln’s transformation in North America and China, there is no better time to propel the Lincoln brand forward with electrification,” said Joy Falotico, president, Lincoln. “Electrification will take Quiet Flight to a new level with the smooth, exhilarating take-off feel and serene quietness our clients expect from a Lincoln.”
Lincoln’s new EV platform will be able to feature rear- or all-wheel drive. Lincoln plans to introduce four new fully electric electric vehicles. The Lincoln Zephyr Reflection concept that debuted at Auto Shanghai is a preview of the Lincoln’s future design language.
Lincoln has also announced that its vehicles will soon get a new Lincoln Intelligence System that improves the connected vehicles, which can receive software updates without changing the hardware.
