Last week Lexus trademarked the LM 350 and LM 300h names with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, but what exactly could the Lexus LM be?

Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept

The Lexus LM trademark follows the recent LQ trademark that we assumed would be used for its new flagship crossover, but with the Lexus LM trademark, we’re now a little thrown off. The “L” in both names hints at a flagship model, like the LS (Luxury Sedan), but it’s not known exactly what the “Q” or “M” could stand for.

We do expect that whatever it is, the LM 350 will be powered by a 3.5L V6, like the rest of the Lexus models with the 350 badge, while the LM 300h will be powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder hybrid powertrain.

For now we’ll just have to wait and see if either the LM or LQ names are used for the production version of the LF-1 Limitless concept.
