The all-new 2018 Lexus LS was just unveiled, but Lexus is already looking to the future with the debut of the Lexus LS+ concept, which previews the design direction of Lexus’ future models. The third-generation of the Lexus L-finesse design language will be even bolder with a new take on the Spindle Grille.

Behind the updated grille there’s a large grille shutter that contributes to both improved cooling and enhanced aerodynamic performance. The Lexus LS+ concept also features partly laser-lit headlamps and rear combination lamps, and electronic side mirrors. The Lexus LS+ concept also features “Highway Teammate” automated driving technologies and artificial intelligence technology to gather information on roads and surrounding areas. The AI technology also lets the Lexus LS+ concept learn and grow along with its users.

Lexus hopes to have its autonomous driving technology in production by 2020 and that updated grille will likely show up on the refreshed Lexus LS in the not too distant future.
