World Car Fans has posted spy photos of what they believe is a V8-powered Lamborghini Gallardo prototype. The car shown here has a slightly modified front fascia and a revised exhaust, which might suggest that there are also some engine modifications.
Reportedly this Gallardo was being tested with an Audi RS4, which is powered by a 420hp 4.2L V8. If Lamborghini is indeed testing a V8 in the Gallardo, the 4.2 from the RS4 would be the logical choice.
The spy photographers also noticed that this prototype is noticeably quieter than the V10 powered version.
