To design the new Cadenza, Kia used its design philosophy that focuses on “the simplicity of the straight line,” which is defined by a single gestural contour that spans the length of the car to create a sleek profile. The single straight line ends with the Z-shaped lighting signatures in the headlights and LED taillights. From the front, Kia’s signature “tiger nose” has evolved into a new hexagonal shape with a distinct concave form. There will two grilles to choose from, since lower trim models will get a “Diamond Butterfly” grille, while higher end models will get the “Intaglio” grille with its vertical blades.

The new Cadenza has the same overall length as the outgoing model, but it’s slightly wider and lower in height. The wheelbase has been stretched slightly to give nearly a half-inch of increased legroom for rear passengers.

The 2017 Cadenza’s interior has been redesigned with higher quality materials and a wraparound dashboard that flows into the doors will give the feeling of a wider interior. The interior also gets new technology, like a head up display, an updated surround view monitor and the latest generation of Kia’s UVO system that now features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Under the hood, the 2017 Cadenza is powered by a revised 3.3L V6 that generates 290-hp. The V6 has been retuned to improve the Cadenza’s fuel economy specs and it sends the power to the ground via a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
