Kia has revealed the new Rio GT, which is going to debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. As its name suggests, the Rio GT is a slightly sportier version of the Rio and further expands Kia’s GT models in Europe, which includes the Sportage, Picanto and Sorento.
The Rio GT adds a gloss-black and chrome ‘tiger-nose’ grille, unique 17-inch alloy wheels, and ‘ice-cube’ LED fog lamps. The exterior also gets twin exhaust tips, LED daytime running lights, chrome window trim, and a gloss black roof spoiler.
Inside the seats are finished in black synthetic leather and cloth with contrast grey stitching, and a new ‘D-cut’ leather steering wheel. The interior also gets new metallic trim surrounds the door switches and gear lever, and the dashboard gets a new carbon fiber effect finish.
Under the hood the Rio GT is powered by a modest 1.0L three-cylinder engine with 118 horsepower and 126 lb-ft. of torque that’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The Rio GT is going to go on sale in Europe this spring.
