Jeep introduces the “4xe” badge for its electric vehicles

It looks like Jeep is about to go green, since Jeep has announced the new “Jeep 4xe” badge, which will be used for its future electric vehicles.

The 4xe badge will first be used for plug-in hybrid versions of the Jeep Wrangler, Compass and Renegade. Next week, Jeep plans to showcase all three models at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Jeep hasn’t released any specs for the three plug-in hybrids, but it does say that they will take the “performance, 4×4 capability and driver confidence to the next level.”

Jeep plans to reveal further information about the Jeep Wrangler, Compass and Renegade 4xe vehicles at the Geneva, New York and Beijing auto shows later this year. These are only the first three vehicles to get electrified powertrains, since Jeep plans to offer an electrified version of every model in its lineup by 2022.
