Jaguar recently introduce its new compact E-Pace SUV and now the brand is reportedly finalizing plans to introduce a larger SUV that will sit at the opposite end of the lineup. Reportedly dubbed the Jaguar J-Pace, the new larger SUV will borrow its parts from Range Rover to take on the Porsche Cayenne.
According to Autocar, the Jaguar J-Pace will go on sale in 2021. It will be based on the same aluminum platform as the Land Rover Range Rover, but its dimensions will differ. The Jaguar J-Pace will be longer and wider than the Range Rover and at the same time it will sit lower to the ground, which is an attempt to make the SUV a bit more at home on the paved road than the Range Rover.
The Jaguar J-Pace will also get the same powertrains as the Range Rover, which means that a plug-in hybrid version is also possible. The J-Pace will also debut Jaguar’s new design language when it arrives.
