Last fall Jaguar unveiled the E-type Zero – a fully electric version of the iconic, classic E-Type. While we all drooled over the E-type Zero concept, Jaguar made no announcement about putting it into production – until now. Jaguar Classic has confirmed it will offer all-electric E-types for sale.
Thanks to the positive response Jaguar received about the E-type Zero concept, Jaguar Classic will offer tailor-made E-types that have been restored and electrified. Existing owners can also have their own E-Types converted to electric power through an EV conversion service.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to the Jaguar E-type Zero concept. Future-proofing the enjoyment of classic car ownership is a major stepping stone for Jaguar Classic,” stated Tim Hannig
Jaguar Land Rover Classic Director. “E-type Zero showcases the incredible heritage of the E-type, and the expertise and craftsmanship at Classic Works, while demonstrating Jaguar Land Rover’s dedication to creating zero emission vehicles across every part of the business, including Jaguar Classic.”
Thanks to the 40 kWH battery, Jaguar is targeting a driving range over 170 miles. Deliveries of the first electric E-type vehicles are will start by summer 2020.
