Infiniti has revealed the updated 2018 Infiniti QX80 at the Dubai Motor Show, which it says takes the brand’s “Powerful Elegance” design theme in a bolder direction.

The previous rounded curves have been replaced by more modern, angular forms to give the 2018 QX80 a more athletic look and to make it look taller and longer. Even though the wheelbase and length have not changed, the leading edge of the hood extends 3.5-inches further forward and sits 0.79-inches higher, giving the it a more squared off face.

The front of the 2018 QX80 not only gets a bolder grille, but also the latest version of Infiniti’s “human eye” headlights. At the rear the taillights get a sharper design and the bumper has been raised a bit.

Inside the 2018 Infiniti QX80 can be equipped with either leather or semi-aniline leather seats. There are also new wood trim options, a new steering wheel and upgraded materials. The QX80’s rear entertainment system is also upgraded. The screens in the backs of the front seats have been updated from 7 to 8 inches. The infotainment system has also been updated and is accessed via the 8-inch touchscreen.

Infiniti has also updated the QX80’s safety tech with a list of new driver-assist systems: Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Intelligent Cruise Control, Distance Control Assist, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Forward Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning and Intervention and Backup Collision Intervention.

Lastly the 2018 QX80 is powered by a 5.6L V8 with 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft. of torque that’s mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can choose either two- or four-wheel drive. The two-wheel drive QX80 is rated at 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway, while the four-wheel drive version is rated at 13 mpg city and 19 mpg highway.

Pricing for the 2018 Infiniti QX80 starts at $65,745 for the two-wheel drive version and $68,845 for the four-wheel drive version.
