Infiniti has released the first photo of its new Q Inspiration concept, which will debut later this month at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The Infiniti Q Inspiration concept is a preview of the brand’s new design language and it might even preview a new flagship sedan.
Infiniti says that the design of the concept “eschews classical sedan forms with its elongated silhouette.” The concept features a sleek coupe-like profile that’s sleeker than Infiniti’s current sedans.
“We aim to take traditional sedan architecture to its next stage of evolution. The Q Inspiration offers an alternative form; something more flowing in appearance and muscular in stance, with an unusually long and balanced cabin,” stated Karim Habib, Infiniti Executive Design Director. “Experimenting with new proportions in an established segment with the arrival of smarter, compact powertrains, the Q Inspiration features a shorter hood and elongated body, with all the benefits to interior wellbeing, comfort and space that this layout entails.”
Under the hood, the Q Inspiration concept likely be powered by either an electric powertrain or Infiniti’s new variable compression engine that’s debuting in the 2019 QX50.
