Hyundai Motor Group, which includes Hyundai, Kia and Genesis, has announced a plan to invest $7.4 billion in the US to build electric vehicles through 2025.

Most of the investment will be to add electric vehicles to its production lines in the US. The first EV will be built at Hyundai’s plant in Montgomery, Alabama in 2022.

Hyundai has already given us a preview of its new EVs, which includes the Ioniq 5 crossover, the Ioniq 6 sedan and the Ioniq 7 large crossover. Kia also recently unveiled the EV6 crossover. Lastly Genesis also recently gave us our first look at its first EV, the Electrified G80.

Hyundai also plans to make investments in hydrogen infrastructure and mobility technologies.
