Hyundai is one of the last mainstream automakers to enter or at least reveal its entry in the growing compact SUV segment, but that’s about to change. Hyundai has released a teaser photo of the new Hyundai Kona crossover, which will be Hyundai’s rival to a long list of small rivals, like the Toyota C-HR, Honda HR-V, Jeep Renegade and Chevy Trax.

Hyundai says that the Kona will officially be unveiled in the coming months, but this teaser photo at least gives you a preview of its face, which will adopt the brand’s Cascading Grille.

“The All-New Kona will set new standard for compact SUV segment. It provides better visibility for drivers increasing driving comfort, while agile driving dynamics will provide better ride and handling experience for the customers.”

Hyundai hasn’t announced that many details about the Kona, but it’s expected to share its platform with the European i20 hatchback, but its powertrain will come from the i30, which is known as the Elantra GT here.
