Volkswagen is focusing on increasing its crossover lineup, most recently with the new Atlas and Tiguan models. Now Volkswagen has released a teaser video of a new smaller crossover that will soon join the lineup, the 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc.
The T-Roc was originally previewed three years ago as a concept and now Volkswagen has announced that the production version will retain the concept’s name. The T-Roc will be smaller than the Tiguan and compete against other compact crossovers, like the Honda HR-V, Nissan Rogue Sport and Toyota C-HR.
The T-Roc is based on VW’s MQB platform and shares a lot with the Audi Q2 that isn’t sold in the U.S. Although the concept was a three-door crossover, the production version of the T-Roc will be a more useable five-door model. Expect the T-Roc to be powered by a range of gasoline and diesel engines with available all-wheel drive.

There’s a rumor that VW will fully reveal the T-Roc next month, but it won’t have its auto show debut until this fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show before it arrives here sometime in 2018 as a 2019 model.
