Hyundai has unveiled the 2022 Kona Electric, which now has a new face and some updated tech features.
At the front the new face has a smoother grille with thinner daytime running lights and restyled headlights. The only downside is that the charge door on the face stands out more now than before. The Kona Electric also gets new wheels and at the rear the bumper and taillights have been redesigned.
The Kona Electric is still powered by a 201-hp electric motors with 291 pound-feet of torque. The range is the same as before at 258 miles. Using a Level 3 charger the Kona Electric can be recharged from 10% to 80% in 47 minutes. Using a Level 2 charger takes 9 hours and 15 minutes to fully charge the Kona Electric from 10%.
Inside there are two digital screens: a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have been added. Hyundai has also updated the Blue Link telematics system, which now allows the driver to schedule charge times via an app and send navigation instructions to the EV.
