The 2016 model year will be the last year for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

The 2016 model year will be the last year for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. With Hyundai’s move to create the new Genesis luxury brand, models, like the Hyundai Genesis sedan, coupe and Equus are all gone from under the Hyundai brand. Hyundai simply rebadged the Genesis sedan as the G80, but the coupe won’t have the same fate.

Rather than simply update the Genesis Coupe for the new Genesis brand, Hyundai has decided to stop production of the coupe. A new, more luxurious coupe successor is in the works, but it may not arrive until around 2020. This means that for now, the newly formed Genesis brand will only consist of two models – the G90 full-size sedan and the G80 sedan.
