Thanks to the “good response” that Hyundai received about the Santa Cruz pickup concept, Hyundai is now considering adding a truck to its lineup. The Santa Cruz concept debuted earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show and now according to a Hyundai executive, the pickup is being considered.
Although Hyundai may give the pickup the green light, Park Byung-cheol, a director at Hyundai’s R&D division, stated that there were “hurdles” to the production. This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard reports about a Hyundai pickup, since back in 2010 Hyundai reportedly talked to Chrysler about tapping the Ram Truck brand for a Hyundai pickup.
