Almost two years ago Honda unveiled the retro Urban EV concept, which was a preview of its first electric car for Europe. Most recently Honda unveiled a prototype version of EV called the E Prototype and now Honda has announced that the small electric car will be called the Honda e.

Honda isn’t quite ready to reveal the Honda e, so instead it’s released a teaser of the rear with its Honda e badge. The teaser also reveals the electric hatchback’s rounded taillights, which are similar to the concept.

The Honda e will look nearly identical to the prototype that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Honda hasn’t announced the official specs for the Honda e, but the concept did have a 124 mile driving range.

In addition to the Honda e news, Honda has also announced that the next-generation Jazz (Fit) will be offered with a hybrid powertrain. The i-MMD hybrid system is the same system that powers the CR-V Hybrid. The next-generation Honda Jazz will debut in October at the Tokyo Motor Show.
