Honda has already confirmed that it’s working on a new electric SUV, called the Prologue, which will launch in 2024. Honda gave us our first look at the Prologue with a teaser sketch, in May, but now we have a closer look at some of the design elements in a new video.

Honda has released a new video that shows how its Los Angeles-based Honda Design team led the exterior and interior styling of the Prologue EV. The design of the Prologue is described as modern and fresh, with clean and simple surface lines – imagined as “Neo-Rugged.” Honda also says that the Prologue is the first Honda model designed primarily through virtual reality visualization technology.

“Designing the first volume Honda electric vehicle gave us more freedom than a vehicle with an internal combustion engine, and we can stretch our imagination, especially in styling the front-end,” said Sang-Hyuk Ahn, a four-year exterior designer at Honda. “We envisioned Prologue with a longer wheelbase, shorter overhang, and capable tires to create sporty proportions and a stronger stance.”

The Prologue is being developed with General Motors and it will be based on GM’s Ultium platform. This means that it will share its DNA with other GM electric vehicles, like the Chevy Blazer EV.
