Honda Civic Hatchback to return to the U.S. in 2016

It’s being reported that Honda is finally going to offer a hatchback version of the Civic in the U.S. again. It’s been 10 years since Honda offered a Civic hatchback in the states.

Being big fans of hatchbacks like the Mazda3 and VW Golf, this is great news! It’s being reported that Honda is finally going to offer a hatchback version of the Civic in the U.S. again. It’s been 10 years since Honda offered a Civic hatchback in the states.

The Nikkei is reporting that Honda is going to build the next-generation Civic hatchback in at its Swindon, U.K. plant, which will build around 50,000 Civic hatchbacks for U.S. consumption. The Civic hatchback will give Honda a competitor to other five-door hatchbacks like the Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda3 and VW Golf.

It was also reported last week that the next-generation Civic, which may be about a year away, is getting a new 1.5L turbocharged engine, standard.
