Honda has announced that it is going to auction off the first 2017 Honda Civic Type R in the world to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The 2017 Civic Type R (VIN) 01, will be auctioned online beginning June 7 on BringaTrailer.com until June 15.
Pricing for the 2017 Civic Type R will begin at $33,900
“The Civic Type R has long been forbidden fruit for enthusiasts in the U.S., so we thought it would be fun to offer one lucky customer a shot at owning the first of its kind in America while benefitting the leading nonprofit solely dedicated to finding a cure for childhood brain tumors, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation,” said Jeff Conrad, Senior Vice President, Automobile Division, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

The 2017 Civic Type R is powered a 306-horsepower 2.0L direct-injected and turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is the most powerful engine ever offered in a Honda production vehicle in America. The four-cylinder is mated to standard six-speed manual transmission. There are also three selectable driving modes – Comfort, Sport and +R.

Honda has yet to officially announce the pricing for the 2017 Civic Type R, but a leaked monroney sticker revealed that the pricing starts at $33,900.
