Chrysler has already announced plans to kill the Dakota pickup and the Dodge Caliber, but there’s another model getting the ax after the 2011 model year. The Dodge Nitro SUV will be done by the end of the year.

Chrysler has decided to produce the Nitro until December since demand is up 24% this year. The last Nitro models to be produced will be the Heat model with its 210-hp 3.7L V6 and the more powerful R/T Nitro, which packs a 260 horsepower 4.0L V6.

The Jeep Liberty, which is built on the same platform as the Nitro will continue to be produced until an all-new Liberty is ready, which is expected in 2013.
