It was rumored that GM is bringing back the Hummer name and now it’s official. GMC is getting a new electric truck, which will revive the Hummer name.

The GMC Hummer electric truck is going to make a big the impact with an impressive spec sheet. The Hummer EV will have 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft. of torque, which will give it a 0-60 mph time of only 3 seconds.

“GMC builds premium and capable trucks and SUVs and the GMC HUMMER EV takes this to new heights,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC. “We are excited to debut our revolutionary zero-emissions truck during the biggest night in TV advertising.”

The GMC Hummer EV will officially debut on May 20, 2020 and will be built in Michigan at General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. During this weekend’s big game, GMC is going to tease the Hummer EV with a 30 second spot during the Super Bowl, which will tease the capability of GMC’s first electric vehicle.

The GMC Hummer EV is slated to arrive by fall 2021.
