Corvette ZR1 chief engineer Tadge Juechter recently sat down to answer many of the current questions about the upcoming Chevy Corvette ZR1.
Juechter revealed that just 2,000 ZR1’s are going to built per year and that the 638 horsepower Corvette is going to be the most fuel efficient 600+ horsepower car on the market. He didn’t give the actual EPA numbers, but he did say that it will be slightly less fuel efficient than the current Z06, which is currently rated at 15/24. The engineer also stated that pricing is going to be released later this month, and that GM is strongly encouraging dealers to not add markups to the vehicle. Also ZR1 accessories will not be available for buyers that want to add them to their current (lesser powered) Corvettes.
