General Motors began taking orders for the 2015 Chevy Colorado midsize pickup in early August and in one month Chevy dealers requested nearly 30,000 pickups – five times more than originally forecasted.
“The dealers’ enthusiasm for the Colorado is off the charts,” Chevrolet U.S. chief Brian Sweeney told Automotive News. The 2015 Colorado is expected to arrive in showrooms in October or early November.

Although dealers have shown strong interest in the Colorado it’s still not certain if consumers will share the same enthusiasm for the new truck, which was phased out in 2012. The Colorado and its sibling, the GMC Canyon have returned to a segment that has shrunk in the past few years. In 2011 both Ford and Ram said goodbye to the Ranger and Dakota pickups.
