Genesis finally introduced its first SUV, the 2021 GV80, but it’s not stopping there as the brand transitions from being a sedan-only brand. We already know that that its next SUV will be the smaller GV70, but now we’re hearing more details about what we might expect in the future.

2021 Genesis GV80

MotorTrend recently got some seat time with William Lee, the global head of the Genesis brand, who revealed that the brand’s third SUV will be a fully electric SUV that will slot in between the GV70 and GV80. The electric SUV will likely be a midsize SUV that’s based on a new electric platform. The good news is that it’s going to arrive next year.

Beyond those three SUVs, Genesis is also looking at the idea of adding a full-size SUV, which would rival the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. It would likely be called the GV90, if it gets the green light. For now Genesis is going to use the GV80 to test the market for a larger SUV.
