Jaguar has officially given us a preview of the future of the automaker with the unveiling of the C-X16 concept. The C-X16 concept coupe is a compact, two-seater looks to the future of Jaguar.
The C-X16 is powered by a supercharged 3.0L V6 that packs 376 horsepower and 332 lb-ft. of torque. The V6 gets even more power from a Formula 1-inspired hybrid boost system with a steering-wheel mounted button for on-demand acceleration. A 92 horsepower electric motor has been integrated into the eight-speed transmission. The battery pack for the electric motor is mounted behind the seats for ideal 50:50 weight distribution. The electric motor is capable of propelling the concept up to 50 mph alone.
The C-X16 concept reaches 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph.
Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars: “The C-X16 embodies the established Jaguar strengths of sensual design, animal-like agility and inspirational performance and combines these with attributes that set us on a course to create sustainable sports cars of the future.”
