We’ve yet to see police forces adopt electric cars in large quantities, largely due to the fact that they can’t travel as far as a conventional police car. The last time an electric car was tested as an electric police cruiser was a few years ago when the Los Angeles Police Department bought a fleet BMW i3 EVs. But now Ford is out to prove that its Mustang Mach-E has what it takes to become a police cruiser.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Police Cruiser

Ford has announced that turned one Mustang Mach-E into a police cruiser for evaluation by the Michigan State Police 2022 Model Year Police Evaluation, which takes place on September 18 and 20.

Ford says that law enforcement demand for all-electric vehicles is growing worldwide. Ford also recently showed off a similar Mustang Mach-E police cruiser in the U.K.
