If you’ve been wanting a Ford Expedition, well Ford has just made it a bit more attainable with the introduction of the 2021 Expedition XL STX, which starts at $49,995. The XL STX is almost $3,000 cheaper than the XLT.

What’s the catch, well the new base version loses the third row, so it only has five seats, but it does get a gloss-black five-bar grille and 18-inch Magnetic Metallic alloy wheels. Inside there’s an eight-way power driver’s seat and the SYNC3 infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under the hood the XL STX is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, that’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is available. The Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package also adds Pro Trailer Backup Assist, a 3.73 rear axle, trailer brake and heavy-duty radiator to give it a towing capacity of 9,300 pounds on two-wheel drive models and the 4WD can tow up to 9,200 pounds.

Ford dealers are already taking orders for the 2021 Ford Expedition XL STX.
