The off-road hungry 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor just got even better. Ford is giving the 2019 F-150 Raptor an upgraded electronically adaptive Fox Racing Shox Live Valve suspension that will make it perform better on and off the road.

The F-150 Raptor already had Fox Racing shock absorbers, but the updated suspension on the 2019 F-150 Raptor continually adjusts the damping force at each corner. The biggest benefit here is the improved ride when you’re on paved roads. There are new ride-height sensors at each front wheel that provide information about the terrain to the F-150 Raptor’s computer. A set of algorithms will improve ride and handling in any of the F-150 Raptor’s Normal, Sport or Off-Road driving modes.

There are some other cool features about the adaptive suspension, like a special Jump mode that can detect when the F-150 Raptor’s front wheels are not on the ground, which then prompts it to stiffen the suspension to prevent bottoming out when you land.

A new Trail Control also is perfect for getting through rough terrain, since the system controls the power and braking to let the driver focus on steering the truck. The system can be set to a set speed between 1 to 20 mph using the cruise control buttons.

Other changes include more color options, like Ford Performance Blue and Agate Black and new beadlock wheels. Inside the 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor gets Recaro seats for the first time.
