Earlier this week Ford trademarked the “Mustang Mach-E” name in Europe, which will likely be used for the upcoming Mustang Hybrid.
All Ford Mustangs discovered the trademark, which was filed with the European Intellectual Property Office. The “Mustang Mach-E” trademark follows the “Mach-E” name, which Ford trademarked last year. It’s expected that the Mach-E name will be used for Ford’s upcoming Mustang-inspired electric SUV.
It’s rumored that the Mustang Hybrid will arrive around 2022, so it might be a while until we hear if it will be called the Mustang Mach-E. Another report also claims that while the Mustang is slated to get a significant refresh around the time that the Mustang Hybrid debuts, the next-generation Mustang isn’t going to arrive until around 2026.
