Ford has announced that it is reducing the pricing for the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck.

According to Ford, the price cuts are due to “increased plant capacity, continued work on scaling production and cost, and improving battery raw material costs.” Ford now expects to build 150,000 F-150 Lightning trucks a year, beginning this fall.

The pricing for the F-150 Lightning has dropped pretty significantly, with the Pro version now starting at $49,995, plus the $1,995 destination fee, which is a price reduction of $9,979. The top of the line Platinum Extended range is now priced at $91,995, plus destination, which is a $6,079 price cut.

Charging the F-150 Lightning will be even easier starting next year, since Ford has signed an agreement with Tesla to allow access to the Tesla Supercharger network.
